What We Look for in a Project
Verra VCS Methodology
Projects must be registered under or in active pursuit of Verra VCS/CCB certification. We work with projects at any stage — from registration to post-issuance.
Coastal Ecosystem Focus
We currently prioritize mangrove, seagrass, and salt marsh restoration projects with measurable blue carbon sequestration profiles.
Geographic Eligibility
Projects in Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Africa, and Latin America are prioritized. Other regions considered case-by-case.
Minimum Scale
Initial tranche integration typically requires a minimum of 100 ha of restoration area. Smaller projects may qualify under consortium structures.
Community Benefit Plan
Projects must demonstrate community co-benefit provisions — employment, food security, or livelihood programs tied to restoration activity.
Monitoring & Reporting Readiness
Active monitoring protocols must be in place. Remote sensing data, ground-truthing plans, and auditor relationship required.
From Submission to Live Funding
Typical full onboarding takes 8–16 weeks depending on project documentation completeness and legal structure.
Initial Submission
Submit your project brief via email. Include registry status, methodology, area, location, and community benefit overview.
Technical Screening
BCG team reviews registry data, baseline methodology, and monitoring plan. We may request additional documentation from your auditor.
Community & Impact Review
Evaluation of community benefit provisions, land tenure documentation, and biodiversity co-benefit profile.
Tranche Structuring
We work with you to define the tranche size, allocation plan, and funding schedule. Legal and financial review completed.
Launch & Onboarding
Project listed on platform. Tranche opens for contributors. Your project profile goes live with audit status, yield profile, and transparency surfaces.
How Funding Flows to Your Project
Tranche-based funding means contributor capital is pooled and deployed according to a published allocation plan. Funds reach your project through structured disbursements tied to restoration milestones — not upfront lump sums dependent on a single gatekeeper's decision.
This structure gives your project predictable capital committed to specific milestones, while contributors can track exactly where their funds went and what verification milestones have been achieved.
Full lifecycle explainedTranche Opens
Contributors fund the tranche. Capital aggregates toward your allocation plan target.
Tranche Closes + Allocation Report
Funds published against your project. Allocation plan locked and visible on transparency hub.
Restoration & Monitoring
Your team plants, monitors, and prepares for first Verra verification audit. BCG tracks milestone status.
First Audit Verified
Yield profile recorded on-chain. Project packs activate. Contributors can claim and deposit into the pool.
Ongoing Issuance
Credits issued by Verra as monitoring continues. BCG displays issuance updates from registry sources.
Your Project's Presence on BCG
Project Registry Profile
Dedicated public page with project description, location, methodology, hectares, species, and status tracking visible to all contributors and brands.
Audit Milestone Tracking
All verification milestones — from registration to first issuance — are tracked and displayed with timestamps and source references.
Yield Profile Recording
Post-first-audit yield profiles are anchored on-chain with source references from your Verra audit documentation.
Global Contributor Exposure
Your project reaches a growing network of individual contributors, brands running campaigns, and impact organizations seeking verified restoration.
Tranche Allocation Transparency
Published allocation plans show contributors exactly how much of their tranche contribution went to your project.
Pack Activation
When your project passes first audit, project-specific hectare packs activate, giving contributors a tangible claim on your restoration area.
Common Questions
Does my project need to already have Verra registration?
No. We work with projects at various stages — including those in active registration. The key requirement is that Verra VCS methodology is the target standard and registration is in progress.
How long does onboarding take?
Typically 8–16 weeks from initial submission to tranche launch, depending on documentation completeness, legal structure, and evaluation findings.
What happens between tranche funding and first issuance?
BCG tracks your project's audit milestones and displays progress on the transparency hub. Contributors can follow your monitoring reports and verification timeline publicly.
Can projects in multiple countries participate?
Yes. We currently prioritize Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Africa, and Latin America, but we evaluate projects from other regions on a case-by-case basis.
