Token design, not a live asset

Planned

This page describes a target architecture. BCGOLD is not currently presented as a liquid, backed, or externally finalized token, and no purchase or return claim is made.

The Concept

Target Architecture.
Verified Before Issuance.

The proposed BCGOLD design explores how independently verified registry inventory might later be represented through controlled smart contracts. It is not currently a liquid asset or an ownership claim.

The target design would admit independently verified and retired registry inventory under an approved custody and accounting policy. That backing relationship is not live during shadow mode.

This makes blue carbon accessible to individuals, brands, DAOs, and institutions — without needing to manage individual project positions or navigate the Verra registry directly.

Diversified Across Projects

The pool holds credits from multiple verified mangrove projects across different geographies, reducing single-project risk.

Verified-backing policy required

Any future issuance must be constrained by independently verified inventory, custody evidence, and reconciliation controls.

Composition Fully Transparent

Pool ratio snapshots are published on every composition change. Anyone can see exactly what backs each token at any moment.

Community Governed

Token holders vote on pool decisions — which projects to admit, ratio adjustments, and platform parameters. Governance weight = token balance.

Lifecycle

From Contribution to Token

The target lifecycle has five controlled stages. External verification and permanent chain records are future acceptance requirements, not current outcomes.

01

Contribute to a Tranche

You contribute to a funding tranche for a specific mangrove project. Funds go directly to project developers for restoration work.

Instrument types: Grant, Revenue Share, Debt. Your contribution is recorded in the BCGReceipt contract.

02

Receive a Receipt → Claim a Pack

Your contribution issues a Regeneration Receipt. After the project's first Verra audit, you claim your BCGPack — a hectare-denominated position.

BCGPack is an ERC-1155 token representing your fractional hectare entitlement after audit verification.

03

Credits Retired on Verra

When audit milestones are met, BCG retires verified credits on the Verra registry. Retirement is permanently recorded with beneficiary attribution.

Each retirement links to a Verra serial number, beneficiary name, and Arbitrum transaction hash.

04

Pack Deposited into Pool

You deposit your BCGPack into the BCG pool. The pool composition ratio is updated and your pack is accounted for in the aggregate.

Pool ratio snapshots are published publicly. The BCGPool contract manages all deposits and ratio tracking.

05

Receive BCGOLD Index Token

The BCGIndex contract mints BCGOLD tokens proportional to your pool deposit. You now hold a fungible, transferable position in the diversified pool.

BCGOLD is an ERC-20 token on Arbitrum. Token balance = governance weight = pool position.

Pool Mechanics

How the Pool Works

Ratio-Based Composition

The pool tracks the ratio of each project's packs to total pool size. Ratios update on every deposit and are published as public snapshots.

Multi-Project Diversification

The pool accepts packs from multiple verified projects. This diversifies geography, methodology, and audit timelines — reducing concentration risk.

Governance-Controlled Admissions

New projects enter the pool through governance votes. Token holders decide which projects meet quality thresholds — preventing greenwashing at the pool level.

Smart Contracts

Proposed On-Chain Stack

These contracts describe the target architecture. Deployment, roles, bytecode, and transaction finality still require independent verification.

BCGReceiptERC-1155

Issues participation receipts to contributors. Stores tranche reference, amount, and timestamp.

BCGPackERC-1155

Hectare-denominated pack issued after first audit. Represents verified project position.

BCGPoolCustom

Aggregates packs from multiple projects. Tracks ratios and manages composition snapshots.

BCGIndexERC-20

Mints the BCGOLD fungible token proportional to pool deposits. Manages redemption.

BCGRetirementManagerGovernance

Manages credit retirement events. Links to Verra registry references and logs on-chain proof.

RegistryAnchorOracle

Anchors external Verra registry data on-chain. Provides verifiable references for audit milestones.
